Common questions

Is the app really free?

Yes. There is no purchase price, no subscription, no in-app purchases, and no advertising. Nothing in the app is locked behind a payment, and there is no paid tier.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. The apps work fully offline. Everything — the deals, the strategy calculations, your statistics — runs on your iPhone. You can leave the app in airplane mode permanently and nothing will stop working.

Is any real money involved?

No. There is no real-money gambling anywhere in these apps. You cannot deposit, wager, buy credits, or cash out. The credits shown are simulated and exist only to keep score while you practice. These are training tools, not casino games.

Can I use this to beat the game?

No, and the apps do not claim otherwise. On the paytables Optimal JoB teaches, perfect play returns less than 100% over the long run. Correct strategy reduces how much a game costs you; it does not turn it into a winning proposition. The apps exist so you can learn the correct play, not so you can expect a profit.

How do I delete a profile or start over?

The app keeps up to three profiles, and each one has its own bankroll, hand history, and reward rates. On the profile screen every profile offers Rename and Delete.

Delete clears everything stored under that profile — the bankroll, the buy-in, every hand in its history, the accuracy and EV record, and the reward rates — and frees the slot so you can start a new one. The app asks you to confirm first. It cannot be undone: the data lives only on your device, so there is no copy for us to restore.

There is no separate reset. To start fresh, delete the profile and create a new one in the empty slot.

To remove everything at once, delete the app from your iPhone. That removes all three profiles and every setting it had stored.

How do I export my hand history?

On the game screen, find the SESSION panel and tap HANDS to open Hand history. It lists the hands you have played with the best play, your play, and what each mistake cost, and a Show errors only toggle narrows it to the hands you got wrong.

Tap the share icon in the top right to export. The app writes a CSV file — one row per hand, with the time played, the game, coins, lines, denomination, the hand you were dealt, the best play, your play, whether it was optimal, the error cost in credits, the final hands and their categories, and the credits won — and passes it to the standard iOS share sheet, where you choose what happens to it: save it to Files, mail it to yourself, or send it anywhere else.

The app recommended a hold I think is wrong. What should I do?

Please tell us — that is the single most useful bug report we can get. Email the game you were playing (Jacks or Better or Bonus Poker Deluxe), the five cards you were dealt, the hold the app recommended, and the hold you expected. A screenshot covers all of it at once.

Is there an Android version?

Not at the moment. Project Haystack LLC currently builds for iPhone only.
